The City of Marina is seeing a spike in burglaries this time of year, however police say it’s occurring earlier than expected. As a result, extra officers will be patrolling during the day when the burglaries occur the most. Police say there have been roughly 15-reported burglaries this month, compared to about five. Residents are being told to lock their doors and windows, and to avoid leaving valuables in plain sight. Police also suggest that people avoid announcing holiday plans on social media.
