THE SANTA CRUZ CITY COUNCIL CHANGED THE RULES DEFINING PUBLIC GATHERINGS AT TUESDAY’S COUNCIL MEETING. THE RULES GOVERNING EVENTS REQUIRED A PERMIT FOR GATHERINGS OF 100 AND MORE PEOPLE. AS A RESULT OF THE VOTE, PERMITS WILL NOW BE REQUIRED FOR EVENTS WITH 50 OR MORE GATHERING. PERMITS WILL STILL BE FREE OF CHARGE FOR NON-COMMERCIAL EVENTS. THE CHANGE IS SET TO BE FINALIZED ON DECEMBER 10TH.
