Caltrans will close a portion of Highway-1 in Big Sur during overnight hours next week for roadway improvement work. Officials say Pitkins Curve will be closed from 10-p.m. to 6-a.m. Sunday through Tuesday. The work is part of a 29.5-million dollar project that includes a rockshed, a bridge and a retaining wall. Work is expected to be completed in January, weather permitting.
