A woman and a security officer were hit and killed by an alleged drunk driver in Salinas last night. Police say 23-year old Francisco Miranda Jr. allegedly hit and killed the two women at 7:12 p.m. near Natividad Medical Center. The first victim was leaving the hospital, when the second victim followed behind to return a backpack the woman left behind. The first victim fell in the street with the second victim attempting to offer help, when a white ford Taurus driven by Miranda struck both of them. The women were taken to Natividad where they died from their injuries. The man was arrested on 2-counts of murder, 2- counts of felony hit and run, DUI, violation of probation, and driving on a suspended license. Police say Miranda and his car, also smelled of marijuana.
