WATSONVILLE HIGH SCHOOL WAS BRIEFLY PLACED ON LOCKDOWN THIS MORNING (MON) DUE TO REPORTS OF A MAN BRANDISHING A KNIFE NEAR THE CAMPUS, LOCATED ON  BLACKBURN AND EAST BEACH STREETS.   THE SUSPECT, IDENTIFIED AS 52 YEAR OLD DANIEL CHAVARIA, HAD STOLEN TOOLS FROM A PICK-UP TRUCK.   WHEN CONFRONTED BY THE OWNER OF THE TOOLS, CHAVARIA BRANDISHED A LOCKING BLADE KNIFE AND ATTEMPTED TO STAB THE VICTIM MULTIPLE TIMES.     ALL OF THE PROPERTY WAS RECOVERED AND NO ONE WAS INJURED IN THE INCIDENT.     THE LOCKDOWN WAS LIFTED AT 10:37 A-M.
