Santa Cruz County Traffic Violations 11-13-13 06:00 av

Sixty-one drivers in Santa Cruz County were cited this month for violating traffic laws as part of an effort to increase safety on the road.   Officers from the Capitola, Scotts Valley and Santa Cruz Police Departments assisted CHP officers in the “badges” program, which stands for “Before Aggressive Driving Gets Everyone Stopped”. Tickets were issued for multiple offenses including speeding, violating right-of-way, failing to stop at a red light, distracted driving and not wearing a seatbelt. Officers focused on Highway 1 in South County and unincorporated areas of mid-county during the enforcement period.
