A fire that broke out early this morning in Castroville damaged three area businesses. Officials say the 5 a.m. blaze that allegedly started at Alfonso’s Mexican Food Restaurant on Merrit Street, caused two other businesses next to the restaurant to sustain fire damage. Damages to all three businesses are estimated at $500,000. No injuries have been reported. The cause remains under investigation.
