Starting January 1st of next year, San Lorenzo Valley Water District customers will see a rate increase on their bill. The water district fell about a thousand signatures short of reaching their goal towards preventing the rate hike. However, the district did lower it’s original proposal, and eliminate funding for the 6-million dollar building project from it’s rate increase plan. The new plan includes an increase of 14% next year for average single-family homes with an 11% jump in 2015 and 16. The board also voted to implement a public review process 120 days before each rate increase takes effect.
