MPUSD Issues Beanie Apology 10-25-13 11:00 av

An apology was issued by the Monterey Peninsula Unified School District after one of its Principals confiscated a student’s beanie.  The school district says the principal at Los Arboles Middle School in Marina made a “mistake” after a seventh grader at the school had a white and black beanie with a “Nike” logo on it, taken away from her on Tuesday.   According to the school’s dress code, the student did nothing wrong.  At the time, the school said the beanie’s logo was not allowed due to safety reasons. Now, the Assistant Superintendent of the school district says it was a misunderstanding.
