Soledad Inmate Drug Conviction 10-25-13 10:30 av

A Soledad inmate has been convicted on felony drug offenses.   The conviction comes after 39-year old Daniel Montano attempted to flush six heroin bindles down his cell toilet during a routine search. Correctional officers later discovered three more bindles of heroin in the pocket of a pair of shorts he was wearing, and another bindle on his bunk.  Montano is expected to be sentenced on December 3rd. He faces a maximum of 25-years-to-life for the sentence, in addition to a 45-year-to-life sentence he is serving for a second degree murder charge out of Los Angeles County.
