A man riding a motorcycle succumbed to injuries he received from a collision last week in Salinas. 56-year old Richard Starner was air-lifted to an area trauma center after he collided his 1987 Harley Sportster into a Hyundai just before 2 p.m. last Thursday. Starner was traveling westbound on West Rossi Street when the Hyundai pulled out in front of him. Starner hit the Hyundai broadside launching him over the vehicle. Police say the death was the seventh traffic fatality in 2013 in Salinas and second fatal motorcycle collision.
