AN ATTEMPTED TRAFFIC STOP IN SALINAS ON FRIDAY TURNED INTO A LOW SPEED PURSUIT. A SALINAS POLICE OFFICER TRIED TO PULL OVER A MAN RECOGNIZED AS A PAROLEE WITH AN ARREST WARRANT NEAR THE INTERSECTION OF TOWT STREETAND GARNER AVENUE.  THE SUSPECT TRIED TO EVADE POLICE WEAVING THROUGH NEIGHBORHOODS AT 20 MILES PER HOUR UNTIL HE JUMPED FROM THE MOVING VEHICLE AND ATTEMPTED TO CLIMB A WALL.   30 YEAR OLD JOSEPH PEREZ WAS TAKEN INTO CUSTODY NEAR MYRTLE STREETAND CIRCLE DRIVE. PEREZ WAS BOOKED INTO MONTEREY COUNTY JAIL ON AN OUTSTANDING WARRANT, EVADING, RESISTING ARREST, HIT RUN, AND GANG ACTIVITY.
