Twelve local non-profits received part of a million dollar grant from the Hospice Foundation for end-of-life services for children and adults. Among the organizations awarded the funding, include Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula where it received $400,000, Central Coast Visiting Nurses received $225,000, Coastal Kids Home Care was awarded $90,000 and Hazel Hawkins Hospital along with Jacob’s Heart Children Cancer Support Services were each given $50,000. Hospice Foundation CEO Siophan Greene says without funding, these nonprofits would likely have to severely reduce or eliminate some of the services they provide.
