Monterey Airport Turkey Fatality 10-18-13 06:50 av
Six turkeys didn’t quite make it to Thanksgiving yesterday after a plane landing at the Monterey Airport ran over and killed them. The General Manager of the Monterey Regional Airport says the birds trotted onto the runway around 5 p.m., when the pilot of a United Express plane was landing when he rolled into them. It took the airport about 30 minutes to hose the runway down while delaying the landing for other planes. It was not confirmed how many people were aboard the 25-seat passenger plane, but no injuries were reported and the plane did not sustain any damage.
