Local surfer Nat Young has won the title “Rookie of the Year” while performing on the Association of Surfing Professionals World Tour. A tour spokesperson says the 22-year old Santa Cruz surfer’s performance with the Semi-Final Berth today secured his title in the 2013 ASP World Championship Tour. In addition, Young also surfed his way to the final at the Rip Curl Pro Portugal, he defeated Sebastian Zietz, Josh Kerr and world title contender Jordy Smith on his way to the final in Portugal.
