Soquel Creek Water Board Discusses Options 10-14-13 19:00 av

The Soquel Creek Water District is looking into other options after a plan was approved last week to stop pursuing desalination as an alternative water supply.    One of the options the District will consider tomorrow is to either join a regional desal project in Moss Landing or build it’s own plant.   Officials will hear from the group DeepWater Desal about plans to collect water a mile offshore from Moss Landing.  The plan would call for sending the water through a new regional data center that would turn the salt water into drinking water.  The district is also expected to discuss building it’s own plant on one of two undisclosed, privately owned sites. The meeting will take place at 7 p.m. at the Capitola Council Chambers.
