A fast-food restaurant is expected to be built in downtown Watsonville on land occupied by a former card club and T.V. repair shop. The city owned lot at 190 Main Street was sold for a development deal expected to close by July 2014. Meanwhile, the City’s Economic Development Manager says the project will not only help raise needed sales and property taxes, but will also cause two dilapidated structures to be demolished. The restaurant is expected to generate around $60,000 in tax revenue annually.
