A Watsonville eatery will hold a fundraiser this weekend for cancer support agencies. The owners of the California Grill say every dime spent tomorrow, will go towards helping families deal with cancer. The fundraiser benefits Jacob’s Heart Children’s Cancer Support Services and the Katz Resource Center at Dominican Hospital. The event will run from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m at the restaurant, located at 1970 Freedom Boulevard. Owners Dick Peixoto and daughter Ashley say the fundraiser is way of giving back, after Dick’s wife and Ashley’s mother was diagnosed with breast cancer two years ago. Watsonville Police Chief Manny Solano, who is on leave for cancer treatment, is expected to kick off the day with his family.
