A MONTEREY COUNTY OFFICER HAS RECEIVED CONGRESSIONAL RECOGNITION FOR WORK IN CLEANING UP HOMELESS CAMPS.  VEHICLE ABATEMENT OFFICER TAMMY YOUNG RECEIVED THE AWARD FROM CONGRESSMAN SAM FARR FOR HER ROLE IN ADDRESSING AND CLEANING UP ENCAMPMENTS LONG THE PAJARO RIVER LEVEE.    ACCORDING TO THE MONTEREY COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE, THE AREAS WERE CREATING AN ECOLOGICAL HAZARD AFFECTING THE HABITAT OF MANY SPECIES ALONG THE LEVEE.  YOUNG WAS PRESENTED WITH THE AWARD SATURDAY.
