STOLEN COMPUTERS -9/8/13-2442-PMD

A CRAIGSLIST DEAL TURNED INTO A ROBBERY IN SANTA CRUZ FRIDAY NIGHT.   THAT AFTER A 38 YEAR OLD SANTA CRUZ MAN, WHO HAD POSTED 2 LAPTOP COMPUTERS FOR SALE, AGREED TO MEET WITH A POTENTIAL BUYER.  ACCORDING TO REPORTS, THE MAN WENT TO THE AGREED UPON MEETING SPOT ON RIVER STREET.  WHERE A CAR PULLED UP AT ABOUT 8:30 P-M AND A WOMAN GOT OUT AND HANDED THE VICTIM AN ENVELOPE THEN QUICKLY TOOK THE LAPTOPS TOWARD THE WAITING CAR.  THE MAN TRIED TO STOP THE SUSPECT, BUT SHE WAS ABLE TO MAKE OFF WITH THE LAPTOPS, AS THE VICTIM CLUNG TO THE CAR AND WAS DRAGGED A SHORT DISTANCE, SUSTAINING SCRAPES ON HIS KNEES.   THE ENVELOPE CONTAINED COUNTERFEIT BILLS PRODUCED FROM A HOME COMPUTER PRINTER.   THE SUSPECT IS DESCRIBED AS WHITE, ABOUT 25 YEARS OLD, 5 FEET TALL, ABOUT 140 POUNDS, WITH AUBURN HAIR.  THE GET AWAY DRIVER AND ANOTHER SUSPECT ARE ALSO BEING SOUGHT. ANY ONE WITH ANY INFORMATION IS URGED TO CONTACT THE SANTA CRUZ POLICE DEPARTMENT.
