10 men were issues citations this week for poaching 270 Dungeness Crabs. The men were spotted off the San Mateo County coast (because they were using flashlights). Most of the crabs were released back into the Pacific Ocean, but some had already died. Although some crabs can be caught legally all year, Dungeness Crabs are usually only in season from late fall until late spring.
