U.C. - SANTA CRUZ GOT A THUMBS UP FROM THE WATSONVILLE CITY COUNCIL TO OK A LEASE ON RUNNING AN EXPERIMENT WITH WATER, CALLED THE WATERLAB.      U-C-S-C STUDENTS WILL TEST OUT SEWER WATER TO SEE IF IT CAN BE PURIFIED INTO DRINKING WATER.        THE UNIVERSITY WILL PAY THE CITY AN 18 THOUSAND DOLLAR FEE TO BE ALLOWED TO DO THIS EXPERIMENT, AND THEY HOPE THAT THEY CAN EARN 50 THOUSAND DOLLARS IN GRANTS.
