the special olympics torch, known as the flame of hope, will start the day (tomorrow) in watsonville. it will BE CARRIED across the city by law enforcement officers. then officers from capitola will be run the flame through the village. santa cruz officers will bear the flame until scott’s valley police take OVER AS the guardians of the flame at 2:20 pm at the scotts valley hilton. the special olympics are set to take place at u-c davis june 28th through the 30th.
