The Land Trust of Santa Cruz County Board of Trustees unanimously voted at its April 26th meeting to oppose Measure T, the Watsonville ballot measure that could lead to the annexation of 95 acres of prime farmland into the city. The Board cited the Land Trust’s mission to preserve open space and protect the county’s unique agricultural economy. The Land Trust has protected more than 1,250 acres of farmland in the Pajaro Valley in the past five years, including land near the city limits.
