A man who has been involved witH producing and managing other RACES FOR 3 DECADES, has been named the NEW Executive Director of the Big Sur International Marathon. 52 YEAR-OLD Doug Thurston haS MOST RECENTLY been THE vice president of course operations and community development for the Competitor Group in San Diego (WHICH ORGANIZES the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series). Thurston replaces Wally Kastner, who resigned LAST fall.
