Congressman Sam Farr released a statement Wednesday in the wake of the shooting that left 2 Santa Cruz Police officers and the gunman dead. In his statement, Farr said that the sacrifices of Officers Baker and Butler will not be forgotten, but raised the question as to how the shooter was even able to obtain firearms. Continuing investigations have revealed that suspect Jeremy Goulet has a troubled past and served 2 year in an Oregon Prison. Farr said that real solutions to gun violence need to be sought if we wish to protect our law enforcement officers in the manner they deserve.
