olympian kerry walsh jennings was greeted by a crowd of more than 5-hundred people on saturday, as the beach volleyball champion helped dedicate a new beach volleyball court at north salinas high school. walsh jennings, (a native of santa clara), captured her 3rd straight gold medal in london this summer, alongside partner misty may-treanor. walsh jennings christened the new 80-by-50-foot court with its inaugural serve. construction of the court was funded by the bay area non-profit “The Good Tidings Foundation.” after the dedication ceremony, players from the monterey bay league girls volleyball gabilan division played in the courts’ 1st match.
