Watsonville Levee Stabbing 7/24/12 8.30a AF

A 26-year-old man was stabbed in near the levee in Watsonville yesterday, after being chased by 3 assailants.    The victim was near the edge of the levee on the south side of river park when he was chased by 3 men; one of whom stabbed him multiple times in the upper torso.    The man was able to escape his attackers by crossing the levee to the Monterey County via the Pajaro bridge.    The wounded man ran to the roadway and flagged down a bystander, who called Monterey County Sherriff’s deputies.    The man was seriously wounded, and was flown to a bay area trauma center, where he is now in stable condition.     The reason to the attack is unknown, and the incident is under investigation.
