An employee of the department store Kohl’s in Capitola was arrested last week after the store determined that he had been embezzling money. 26-year-old Santa Cruz resident Christopher Kaczmarek was taken into custody by Capitola Police on Thursday for allegedly embezzling a total of $1,800 from the store where he worked. Kohl’s loss prevention officers collected evidence on Kaczmarek before turning him in to the police. Kaczmarek was arrested for suspicion of embezzlement, grant theft, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
