Board members approved a fee increase wed for customers of the monterey peninsula water management district. the vote was 6 to 1. board member monterey county supervisor dave potter cast the dissenting vote. More than 10-thousand letters were written in opposition to the increase, but that was short of the needed-15-thousand letters. The fee increase will be between 30 and 100-dollars a year for customers, depending on property value. It’s set to take affect july 1st.
