The santa clara county bomb squad was called to marina sunday, to assist local authorities in destroying a hand grenade that had been found. The grenade was discovered by a person walking in a field off of 7th avenue and intergarrison road. Marina police could not determine if the grenade was still live, so the bomb squad was called to analyze it. After determining that the grenade was unlikely to pose any threat, members of the bomb squad detonated it as a precaution.
