investigators at the santa cruz police department believe the same suspect is RESPONSIBLE for a rash of trash can fires in the city recently. a fire was reported wednesday at noon near santa cruz high school, and 3 other trash can fires were reported on sunday. two trash bins were set ablaze near the county courthouse, and another was set on fire on south river street. no suspects have been named in the recent string of arsons.
