s.c. property must be fixed or sold 04/23/12 5:15p.m. TDH

A santa cruz property owner has reached an agreement with city officials, that will allow her to keep her Westside house, if she follows certain stipulations.   nearly a year ago, A santa cruz county judge ordered tenants to vacate the property on the 1-hundred block of Chrystal Terrace.  The owner, who no longer lived there, was allowing homeless people to stay there in exchange for work.   However, numerous complaints about the foot-traffic and drug use caused city officials to take action.  Friday’s agreement outlines steps the property owner can take in order to keep the property.  The owner must fix all code violations at the property, and must live there herself, or only rent it through an approved property manager.  If the owner does not follow the agreement, the property must be sold.
