Following last year’s release of a mobile phone app for iphone users, the santa cruz police department has announced that the app is now available for android users. (android is made by google and supports many mobile phones that are not made by apple.) the app is free, and provides users with santa cruz police radio, maps of police activity, alerts, photos and video. The santa cruz police department was the first department in the nation to create a mobile phone app. Android users can find the app online at: play dot google dot com. Apple users can download it from itunes. Search “santa Cruz police department.” An update for the original iphone app is expected to be available in the next month or so.
