the pacific grove city council is expected to vote on a moss landing desalination project proposal at their meeting today. the city of pacific grove had joined with other monterey peninsula cities in the new peninsula regional water authority, which is trying to secure a new water supply. the proposed desal plant would entail the city issuing nearly 130 million dollars in bonds. the plant is projected to produce 10-thousand, 7-hundred acre feet of water a year. the pacific grove city council meeting is slated for 6 p.m. today.
