The santa cruz city council is slated to consider a proposal next tuesday, to bring a minor league N-B-A team to the city.   the 2-point-5 million dollar project would relocate the developmental league franchise that is affiliated with the golden state warriors.   (The warriors are based in Oakland.)   Owners recently purchased the “Dakota wizards” d-league team, which is based in north Dakota.   The proposal to move the team to santa cruz includes building a 32-hundred-seat temporary basketball facility.   The arena would be located on a lot at front street and laurel street extension.   That lot is owned by the seaside company, (which owns the beach boardwalk).   The city of santa cruz and the warriors would split the cost of the stadium, if the move is approved. A city council vote on the project could come as soon as may 8th.
