An armed standoff in Salinas this saturday ended with the arrest of the suspect. Salinas police officers responded to reports of domestic abuse, on the 2-hundred block of calle cebu. The female victim was contacted outside of the residence, but 68-year-old Donald negranza refused to come out. He eventually brandished a revolver at officers, which forced the evacuation of surrounding homes and churches. Negranza was taken into custody after he finally came outside, and was shot with non-lethal- ammunition. He is believed to have suffered a heart attack during the episode, and was taken to a local hospital. Negranza is facing multiple charges upon his release. 3-rounds were reportedly fired from the 357-caliber- revolver, but nobody was injured by the shots.
