a santa cruz county native has been nominated to fill a vacant position on the live oak school board. sergio martinez has experience as a youth counselor, adult educator and teacher, and is currently president of the early learning advisory council at live oak elementary school. martinez was one of 2 candidates INTERVIEWED by the current board members at a special session last night. the vacancy comes after the death of board member barney bricmont last month. the school board’s next scheduled meeting is slated for february 7th.
