Santa cruz county school board member vic marani has announced that he will not seek a seat on the santa cruz county board of supervisors. Marani had been expected to contend for the 2nd district seat being vacated by ellen pirie, but he cited family obligations as his motivation in dropping his bid. The district runs from Watsonville to capitola, and includes aptos and other unincorporated areas of the county.
