a tentative agreement has been reached on a contract with the salinas valley memorial healthcare system and members of the national union of healthcare workers. a ratification vote is slated for tomorrow by union members and a special meeting of the hospital’s board of directors would then be called to approve the agreement. the new contract would end 12 months of negotiations that included a one day strike by union workers and a 2 day lockout of those workers by the hospital.
