one of 2 suspects accused of a bank robbery and bomb scare in san jose last week is from gilroy. 23 year old alfred apaiz and 35 year old luis barrios, of san jose, are robbing a bank on snell avenue in san jose last thursday, before fleeing in a vehicle on highway 85. the suspects allegedly told bank tellers that they had an explosive device. the san jose police bomb unit responded to the scene when they crashed their car on highway 85 near highway 87. both suspects remain in san jose police department custody. the incident is still under investigation.
