a hearing to set a new trial date has been postponed for a man accused of stabbing chris carr to death at a 2006 party in la selva beach. 23 year old leopoldo alejandro cortes was convicted of 1st degree murder for the stabbing in 2008, but the conviction was overturned after it was ruled that more testimony from a defense hired psychiatrist should have been allowed in the trial. a hearing to set the date for a new trial has been scheduled for january 12th.
