The pajaro valley chamber of commerce and agriculture has announced the organization’s people and organizations of the year. Former watsonville fire chief gary smith was named “man of the year”, and teacher diane severin was named “woman of the year.” The 2 are set to be honored, along with others, at a dinner ceremony scheduled for January 28th. Also being recognized is the Watsonville relay for life, which won “event of the year,” and Court appointed special advocates, known as CASA, which was named “organization of the year.” Taylor’s Office City was honored as “business of the year.” The lifetime achievement award is set to be given to retired teacher Rhea DeHART.
