Fraud sentence 12/06/11 6p.m. TDH

A man convicted of ducking-out on a medical bill, then providing false information in order to receive more care, has been sentenced to 6-months in santa cruz county jail.  65-year-old William Monroe devine had failed to pay a bill for over 51-thousand dollars from domincan hospital, for treatment he received in 2008.   in October of this year, he again sought care at Dominican, but provided a false social security number and other information, in order to avoid the bill.   Devine was recognized, though, and arrested.  In addition to the 6-months of jail time, he has been ordered to pay 66thousand dollars in restitution, and serve 3-years of probation.
