Commercial crabbers finally have begun fishing for Dungeness crab, 2-weeks after the season officially opened. Crabbers had been locked in a price dispute with buyers, with crabbers asking for 2-dollars-fifty-cents per pound. Large buyers were offering 2-dollars per pound, and the parties settled on $2.25. that’s a 50-cent increase from last year. fresh dungeness crab is expected to be in local markets as soon as wednesday.
