protests at university of california campuses are expected for this morning. students with the “occupy” movement are angry that tuition has tripled over the past 10 years while academic department budgets have shrunk. a meeting of the u.c. board of regents is scheduled for today, after cancellation earlier this month due to threats of violence and vandalism. the regents will be spread out in 4 locations, san francisco, davis, los angeles and merced, and conduct the meeting by teleconference.
