Lanes were closed on highway-68 in Salinas on Sunday, when a vehicle severed a gas line. The driver crashed into a fire hydrant near McShane’s Nursery, and cut a line carrying natural gas. Traffic was detoured to Hitchcock Road while PG and E crews repaired the line. Lanes were re-opened after about 90 minutes.
