the spca has teamed up with valley churches united to collect and distribute animal food, toys, collars and leases for pets of low-income families and seniors. the 17th annual holiday pet project will have donation stations at pet pals in soquel, scotts valley feed, general feed and seed in santa cruz, and aptos feed and pet supply. in addition to the holiday toy and food drive, the spca distributes over 10-thousand pounds of food and supplies a month to financially challenged pet owners in santa cruz county.
