3-schools in salinas were placed on lockdown today, when an armed home-invasion took place nearby. The lockdowns at La Paz Middle school, cesar chavez elementary school, and oscar loya elementary school were lifted at about 2:15 this afternoon without incident. Meanwhile, 3-people were arrested in the home invasion, which took place on estrella way. 1 suspect, 18-year-old joe Anthony Gutierrez was detained outside of the victims’ house by salinas police officers. 2-others teenagers fled from the scene. One of them, a 15-year-old was caught and arrested, while the other reportedly hid in a trashcan. That suspect, a 16-year-old was believed to have been armed with a .357-revolveer, which he abandoned during the pursuit. He ultimately surrendered, and was taken into custody.
