Spanier resigns from NPG board 11/17/11 5:30p.m. TDH

Former penn state president graham spanier resigned this week, from the advisory board for the naval postgraduate school in monterey.   the board is made up of military and academic leaders, and reports to the department of defense.  Officials had hinted that spanier could be removed from the board, after he was fired from penn state for not reporting alleged child abuse to authorities.   Rather than being removed, the department of defense accepted his resignation.
